i had an escort with the exhaust that came out in front of the back tire. it sounded really good but it burned out the valves.

no backpressure=fail

well i never ran the exhaust manifold cause whn i went to my friends dads shop to do it, he said ill cook my motor for having no back pressure. i still got a 10.85 tho. im happy with that. remember only 1/8 track

you should be able to pull on a s10 for sure...i remember beating a 5.9 rt durango stock...u should be fine...and please dont do that to ur exhaust...it prob a waste of time...wont feel any gains...and u dont want any hondas thinking that our cars sound like **** haha

X2. You are always a jerk to people casue you think you know everything. Unfortunately you do not. And you need back pressure if you are running N/A, on turbos it doesnt matter.

velocity and scavenging are more important than backpressure. so pipe sizing is your main priority. you want to keep velocity up

u can get a cuttout and make the cuttout go out to the outside of the car... look and sound super loud lol.. and you could just press a button and then close it up.

some backpressure yes, too much will rob top-end power production. which is why pipe sizing is your main priority

backpressure in itself is bad...all around. you dont want it. what you do want is the PERFECT pipe diameter so that you get a good "suction" (scavanging (sp??)) effect. you want the fastest flowing air, back-pressure will reduce the velocity. \

think of it like sucking through a straw, use a big one and you cant get the liquid to come up easily, use one too small and you get pressure..but you dont get as much through...but if you find the exact right size for the pressure you can exert, then you can suck as much liquid as possible without any "gaps" making it loose suction....

idealy you want 0 backpressure and all high velocity airflow with a perfect fit of air to tubing size

myself, with my setup on the car i am runninga 4-2-1 header, 2.5" catless dp (to get the scavenging and velocity going) and then 3" past athat all the way out to a 2.5" muffler...it give me sound, flow, and performance I r love my exahust...albight VERY loud lol

i used to run a stock manifold, 3 inch catless downpipe, and 2.5 inch megan. so freakin loud. now i replaced it with the 2.25 inch gmpp sport. mid-range feels better than it did with the megan and i dont really notice any top-end difference
