Who ever sends us their 2.2L early 2005 engine mount and lets us measure it up for 1 week, then we send the mount back to you, in about 4 weeks from then we will ship you for FREE a 2.2L solid engine mount.

You MUST have the early 2005 cobalt with the mount shown in the photos on this post. Also you must allow us to have it for 1 week (means you cant drive your car, if you send us that one)

PM us ONLY if the above situation works with you.

I can help here...

I have a 2005 that came with that orignal style mount. Mine broke actually, and GM replaced it under warranty. They no longer make the older style mount, and it got replaced with the new one. So you can use the newer style GM factory mount on the 2005 model year cars. It comes with two parts, the vehicle frame side of the mount, and the shorter bracket attachment for the engine.

With this style mount, the Torque Damper will fit normally.

what do the mounts do anyway? help prevent wheelspin?

you can get a tranny TD too, correct?

You have two questions there. The mounts do just that, they attach the engine, and in fact the whole powertrain, to the car.

The Torque Damper was designed to reduce wheel hop, not spin.

There is no trans damper, it would be redundant since the trans and engine are bolted together.

Correct, with this you would need to purchase:

1. A later model GM cobalt upper mount
2. A bracket (aluminum) from GM, that connects the engine block to the upper mount. (Later style bracket)
3. The Ingalls ETD

OR...

2. A Turbo Tech Racing Mount.

OR...

1. A Turbo Tech Racing Solid mount designed for the 2005.... (in the works, we hope)

Thanks Halfcent.

I see now. So the TTR Racing Mount and the Ingalls ETD are the same product just from different manufacturers.

And TTR carries both. Good job!

That picture shows the newer style mount. That one would work fine with any of the torque dampers.

oh ok just clarifying. I would suggest just filling them like I did. That way you don't have to actualy get a newer mount
