What is your limiter set at now? I have hit 125 in my LS Coupe and I have not changed anything since the purchase.

The Cobalt doesnt use "chips".

As far as I know noone is offering Cobalt ECM tuning capabilities yet. AddOn controllers typically cant modify features such as speed limiters.

I think i maybe be able to shed some light on the differences. First lets start with the US. limiters are based on tire rating, so if the LS has the 16" wheels it will have a higher limiter then the base wheels. In canada we just dont have limiters.

My 05 base also shuts off at 105... that aggravates the **** out of me.
Anyways, where I live, there is no one around... wide open and deserted. Maximum velocity is attainable!

I know with the IONs the ION-3 has a higher limiter because it has a sport tuned suspension and 16" wheels...

I'm assuming maybe the equivalent to the ION 3 with the Cobalt is the same and the base models are cut out earlier...my ION-2 cuts out at 109.

Cars are limited by thier tire ratings. People who didnt buy the preformance tires(Z rated) with thier z28/trans ams got limted at 115 also.

Honestly, why would you drive faster than your tires are safe at?

My cavie kicks out of gear at 115; my Camaro has seen 150+ and the Cobalt has seen 120....

liar, computer tops off at 120, then limits it
i hit it in 4th gear in my LS sport coupe

its based on tire ratings, but i think you can get it reflashed at the dealership, but i dunno how that would affect your warranty

heh, ya, 105, it stinks. i live in an area where a lot of people go at those speeds. it SHOULD be adjustable though, especially if you go and upgrade your tires....

Okay -

Digital Horsepower is working on some software that will allow you reflash your Ecotec PCM.

Also I believe Brittney Kindle is running a AEM unit, Im not sure its plug-n-play but I'm sure AEM believes this will be a serious contender for the domestic tuner crowd, but don't expect to see it anytime soon.

Also http://www.rsmracing.com/ is suppose to offer flashing of the PCM

Seems the software for the PCM is also available from GM Racing, so I don't know what that means...

You can always go with a piggy-back solution. The new Greddy Ulimate E-Manage offers some options no other piggy-back does and there a few J-bodies using these.
