Question about header

If I order a header is it mandatory that I get a downpipe with hi-flow cat as well? Or can my stock downpipe w/ cat be fine? Cuz if i need to get a downpipe w/ cat i dont wanna be pullin codes cuz ive searched that some hi-flow cats give cels, I plan to get a pacesetter ceramic header and am just wondering cuz i got a pacesetter catback exhaust.

SORRY IF THIS POST WAS POSTED SOMEWHERE, just wanted some clarification

search button is a help but the pacesetter flange at the dp is different then stock so you would have to have someone change it or yes buy a new dp. but if it were the same ,no you would not need a new dp

stock flange (triangle)

pacesetter flange (oval)

if you plan on using a HFC get a CEL eliminator for your rear O2 sensor, it will prevent the car from thinking u have a problem with your cat and giving you a CEL.

What's the point in getting a header if you're going to keep the stock downpipe?

Exhaust is one of those things you really won't see a difference in until you complete the puzzle.

You really should build the whole exhaust like Sentry stated. If you have a point of resistance in your dp then whats the point of having smooth flowing exhaust in the headers. Spend the money and it will repay you.
