Quick question...
I was wondering if any of the 2.2L guys have thrown on a high flow converter, if any of you did, did it set a check engine light ? Im gonna get a magnaflow high flo cat and was just curious, so i can expect it or not.
I don't know of anyone who's done this yet but I'm pretty sure you will throw some kind of code.
Our cars are not as picky as an SS though so maybe not. But be prepared to see an engine light, just in case.

Well, at first i was just gonna replace the piping, but i figured since i was already doing that might as well throwin in a high flo converter as well. I dont think there will be any problems, just wanna see if any guys that have any would post up their experiences with it, or am i the test dummy here ???
that cat is way too large for the engine breathing dynamics, that's why the CEL is on. it's not doing much if anything I'm sure.
as long as you stick with a 2.25 to 2.5" you should be fine. I know of someone with one of the earlier mentioned sizes who does not get an engine light

I've got a long tube (4-2-1) header and a 3" high flow cat (made by international muffler co.) and 2.5" pipe out the back on my 2.4L and haven't had any CEL whatsoever. The magnaflow high flow cat probably does not have enough membrane in it to convert enough gas so the ECM thinks that its not working properly.
I have my header/downpipe/cat wrapped and since then it hasnt happened plus I think the car got used to it because it hasn't done it for quite a while. I also have a code reader that fits in the driver side glove box thing.

that heat wrap is help keep the heat in, so it's warming up faster and not throwing the code, makes sense
