Racing solutions 2.2 header installed! (lots of pics)

Check out my new header. Its Racing solution new header for the 2.2. Install went smoothly No modifications were required and everything fit perfectly I would recommend this header to anybody with a 2.2 looking for a shorty header.

Look how much of a difference there is from the stock collector

And it meets up with the size of the stock downpipe perfectly!

After the install I felt a pretty decent gain! And no noticeable loss of low end torque!
Now all i need is a LSJ down pipe!

THANKS AGAIN TO RACING SOLUTION!

get a real downpipe. Lsj is good, but if u have an aftermarket header get a nice donwpipe to keep it flowing.

You'll be fine with that set up, but you'll benefit more from an aftermarket downpipe. My set up now is, this header, stock DP and corsa sport catback. But I am looking for an LSJ DP to finish off the exhaust. I would go aftermarket but there too damn expensive!

Can the stock heat shield fit back on?
I am not sure how it fits on so I do not know.

I just know extra heat is produced under the hood from shield removal, which may make some of the plastic, and rubber pieces go brittle quicker.

Yeah, it takes a little hand bending and manipulating but 2 of the 3 bolts can be put back on.

Here's a pic with the heat shield over the header

As you can see the one bolt at the bottom will not go back in because the mounting hole was in the stock manifold

Here is a how-to i wrote up for installing the header!

Yeah its a little deeper, it wasn't too much change. The biggest change in sound is at durring WOT at about 5000 RPM to redline.

I did get a change in the exhaust note however when I installed the LSJ DP. It sounds like a beast now! Its slightly raspy until it warms up though.
