Talking Repainted valve cover(pics)

okay so deleted my other thread for this one...decided black was blah so did flat red..heres on pic off the car..waitting for it to dry to reinstall
what do you think?

ya it didnt turn out too shabby..i have to put it on the car and let it idol for 15 inutes for a full cure...but it looks good i like it

I wouldn't have done it with the bolts in it. I'd hate to dry-rot the o-rings that are on them.

Looks really nice are you going to paint the SC? What kind of paint did you use, how long did it take to get it off and then paint and back on?

no im and LS so non supercharged..but when i do get the m62 yes same color as valve cover..it took about 45 min..our valve covers are really easy to take off.

Yeah they aren't bad to take off just make sure you close the hood so nothing gets in the valvetrain. I polished mine a few weeks ago......PIA as far as getting all the little crevises (sp?) and ****. LSJ valve cover looks to be a lot easier to do.

I might end up doing this on my cavalier. Im either gonna do a metallic blue, or cheat and use chrome to make it look polished, lol.

You used the high heat paint? How many coats?

Are you gonna put a clear coat on there?

its "flameproof"by vht? or duplicolor? got it at my work(autozone)its super super high heat and no clear...the flat look is exactly what i wanted.its a process to dry though lol i had a heat gun to speed things up though

I have a heat gun too. Actually, someone said they were gonna paint it white, and being my car is white, I think I am gonna do that.
