I just purchased a hypertech power chip for my 05 cobalt base. Only problem is i dont know how to put it in ive been trying for a couple of days now and i can not figure out how. I read that it is by the fuse box by the glove compartment but can someone help me with some pictures of where the stock chip is? Please

 

there is no "Chip" there is an ECU. this isnt hondas or DSMs. The ECU is in the engine compartment by the fuse block under a plastic shield.

 

i looked there there is no visible ECU i see the fuse box but where is the Stock ECU? Pictures? Please lol

 

how much did you pay for one of these "chips" ?

 

its in the engine compartment dude. if you dont see it you need to go to the eye doctors. its directly infront of the fuse box underneath a rounded plastic cover. If you really need me to take a picture let me know.

 

is it inside the silver plate with the two harnesses attached?

 

did you get it off ebay? does it look like a little weird tiny shape with a single wire coming out each end?

why buy a chip when its looks like u have a turbo on ur balt ? hmmm if i was u i would return the chip and a custom tune if u have not yet... can u post a pic of ur whole engine bay

Lol i dont have a chip brotha. Im trifecta tuned, 60lbers t3t4 50 trim 12psi.

wow wtf is that...a trifecta tune would of ran you the same cost and you could of gotten a whole lot more, more power, no speed limiter, raise your rpm limiter...what a waste...


ECM if your a 05-06 is located in the same place, but looks different, we use a 16bit ecm, the 07+ uses a 32 bit with a different casing...ECM is located between my intake and my fuse box...good luck figuring out where your plug that thing into, let alone how...

Bro I bought the sane thing last week! Turns out we have a hidden secondary ecu in the trunk behind the liner well I located it and I still couldn't figure our how to olug it in so what I did was shoved iit up my ass n fucked the **** outta my girlfriend she said with the chip alone my sex skills gained atleast. 35SP (sex power for the noibs) and I havnt ever got dyno'd yet one more thing I didn't have the correct cooling mods so I had to leave the blanket off of us while I was fornicating my bitch....

okay, now that you've been sufficiently flamed... a trifecta tune is basically refering to a company that can tune your car via a mail and you give them your car's information and they send a programmer with a preloaded tune build just for you. you plug it into the port that you get your diagnostics at and upload it and 15-20 minutes later it's a whole different car.

 

thats excatly what i needed to know im no pro at car modding obviouslly but i take classes and learn along the way. and where does this programmer plug into for when it does come via email? where do the diagnostic plugs plug into?
