You read that the downpipe can't be upgraded? When you pop the hood, look at where the exhaust manifold should be, you can't really see it because the SAI stuff is sitting on top of it. That's the problem. It has to do with the header, the DP could be swapped without a SAI problem afaik. There's only one company (I think that makes a header that supports SAI but almost nobody has it). I have a car that comes with this and I am running an aftermarket header, ZZP long tubes. You can fix this with a tune and your basically set with any header you want. I still leave my SAI stuff on top of the header bolted in so it looks stock.

That depends on what year / version of the 2.2L you have. I have an 06 so only Trifecta Tuning is offering options. I just had a tune from them and I like it You might be able to have HPT support or LS2edit support depending on what you have.

You could replace the header with a non sai header and drive around until the world stops spinning, you just won't pass an inspection for example because it will set to error codes.

I'm pretty sure if you have an 06 LT then you only have one option which is Vince at Trifecta Tuning: Trifecta Performance Custom Tuning :: Home Page and News

I was driving around with my SAI system not working for quite a while lol.

I would make sure know what you want out of the car before you start buying bolt-ons and such but generally you want to do everything that doesn't require a tune first, then install parts that do require a tune at the same time you actually install the tune. You only have to pay for a tune once this way as opposed to paying for minor retunes.

If you want to get a header that is compatible with SAI ppe engineering is the only company that makes one.

Why would you buy a header if you plan on going turbo? That's just throwing away money. If you want to buy a header, go supercharged next year.

With a supercharger and stage 2 roughly 215-220 (conservative) depending on supporting mods. And turbo really depends on boost.

This is important. You should really come up with a goal first before you start purchasing parts, if you don't, you will most likely end up buying parts and then needing to replace them in the near future for your build. If you buy an exhaust manifold then you will almost certainly need to replace it if you go with a turbo build, same goes for the down pipe (or at least modification). Depending on your goals, you may have to replace your 2.2L intake manifold and/or the 2.4L intake manifold if you buy that with something stronger / better airflow. You may wish to replace the TB 2.2/2.4 whatever you have as well. Your intake, stock or aftermarket will also be replaced if you go the route of forced induction. Setting a goal and working only towards that goal can help save you some $$

You can be over 250whp on a supercharged setup with the m62. This will be pushing the limits of the engine internals but they would be pushed the same with a turbo set up. If you are relatively new to car modding you are going to want to do a lot of research before making the decision to go either way. I will tell you this, the supercharger build is generally considered to be an easier one. It is also going to give you a big boost in power. Unless you are wanting more than 300whp you don't need to go turbo unless you just love turbos. With a supercharger setup you will just make less torque than with a turbo but with less than 300whp it won't be a huge difference in torque

That seems easier said than done. I've been told most dealers won't touch it, unless you know a tech or something there. Maybe I heard wrong though.
