anybody got a clue what that could be?
Check your valve cover gasket, anything dripping on the motor, and your coolant system (lines and fittings). It sounds like oil getting on the motor but it could also be coolant getting on the motor although it is a sweeter smell

Check your a/c filter thing. I know when those get dirty it causes a bad smell.

I'm about to light it on fire lol.

If it ever gets warm I'll check the plugs and start there I guess.

Who is footing the bill for the repairs at the dealership? Because if your the one paying for it, no offense, but tell your dad to **** off. Dealership is quite possibly the WORST possible place you could have went for an engine replacement on a car that is out of warranty. Even on the warranty car's where they replace the engines with brand new ones or rebuild them, they wind up with horrific problems afterwards. Chances are they keep getting junk motors from the scrap yard and are just throwing them in and changing the oil. This will be a perpetual bad time if that's the case. I could sooner walk you through rebuilding that engine and it would be cheaper and run properly in the end run. Really sucks that your having such a bad time with the car.

I'm only going to repay him for the price of the motor itself. I think now he realizes that He should have let me do it because of how bad they fucked it up. This motor doesn't even sound right when it is running ok, I'm afraid to go wot for more than a second or two.

I need moar 2.4 swap now lol

Looked at spark plugs today and one of them didn't have a gap and melted the electrode. Replaced and not misfiring at the moment. (knock on wood)

Alright guys, now sometimes my car starter decides it doesn't even want to try to do anything. I put the key in and put it to start and nothing happens. No clicks or nothing. The car has full power still. I've had to push start it once and this time I just walked away for a few minutes and came back and all of a sudden it worked again. what the hell is up with this?
