This is probably one of the dumbest questions ever....but how do you get the shifter knob off on a 2.2L 5spd? i feel like such an idiot, i can't get it off for the life of me. help?

 

Grab just where the rubber stops and the leather starts, theres a collar under the leather boot (kinky), turn about a quarter turn ( I can't remember witch direction) then push it down.

Then you'll see the 4 release fingers that collar locks down, just pull the knob straight off.
