I wouldn't hesitate to purchase Fidanza, *if I wanted a short-throw shifter*.

Some of the cheaper, no-name/eBay ones have been known to have inoperable reverse lock outs due to faulty manufacturing.

ps - *just be aware that faster shifting is not necessarily good for your transmission. Do a google search. Having researched the topic, I will not be purchasing one. My stock shifter is fast enough for my syncros.

isnt TWM Performance the only company atm that has a shortshifter for our 2.2s. i know bm doesnt-besides i just ordered my shortshifter from TWM Performance @ 25% off ( they had a special that lasted until augest 31st, i couldnt resist. i also have to add that everyone that has bought a TWM Performance ss loves it and has had no probs with it at all.

Whatever. If you are not worried about quality issues go for it.

Just make sure you shift it as quick as you can, as often as you can. Otherwise what would be the point?

just because his driving style is diferent from yours and he wants one oh well. i was wondering the same thing, and have been tempted to buy one of the ebay ones, but i didnt. but a short throw shifter isnt designed for speed shifting or quick shifting. and since i dont shift that way, (ever seen a clutch disc explode?) i will probably be getting a twm. do they have reverse lockout? doesnt matter either way to me.

actually the quality of the product is great it is all cnc machined alluminum and it does come with the reverse lock out but you can remove it very easy it looks alot nicer then the b&m and tmw imo.
Then only problem is this shifter is not made for a SS/SC it is made for late model cavaliers and sunfires, which means it will fit in the 2.2 & 2.4 cobalts.
But it can be easily modified to work on the SS/SC or Redlines.
