those are good for high end gains but suck hairy ******** for lower rpm. for an everyday driver vehicle, its not worth it IMO.

theres not really much out there specifically for the cobalt yet in the way of headers but i would just keep your eyes open for a 4-2-1 or another 4-1 from dc sport, weapon r, or borla. this one might be cheap but trust me, you are getting what you pay for, speaking from experience here

If you know how to use tools do it yourself. It took me about 2 and 1/2 hrs. and that was my first time changing out headers.

It is a fairly easy job for someone handy with tools. If not, a local Car-X would probably do the install for you for like around 2 hours of shop labor time, which is probably around $60 and hour.

No, it won't effect your warranty.

If you get a header you wont need to have bigger pipping for your exhaust do you?

I would get something that matches because then there would be no point in doing a header because you would just be bottlenecking the exhaust.

Borla already has one out for the 2.2L, but maybe take time to go get a quote from a muffler shop, unless they are complete scammers it should be a lot cheaper and give about the same gains
