yea man he'll prolly just send me ur file haha i was a little concerned about the idle i was reading your threads about it n didnt really want to go through the calling and emails like 10 times a day to get it right

bridfi 08-11-2008 11:19 PM

me and vince have been working on a tune all day, we finally got the idle fixed, but my injectors fuse keeps blowing, and it misfires and bogs bad at WOT and sometimes even just driving normal.

copson20 08-11-2008 11:23 PM

to fix it he told the ECM i have a smaller throttlebody so it opens more until he can find the base running airflow chart in the 2005

balt21 08-11-2008 11:24 PM

has anyone who has gotten cams been to a dyno or track to see what they are actually putting down?

sorry about the thread jack.

copson20 08-11-2008 11:25 PM

apparently 2005 and 2007 are different in the tables

bridfi 08-11-2008 11:25 PM

god damn 2007 bullshit

Grich171 08-11-2008 11:28 PM

how bout the 06?

bridfi 08-11-2008 11:29 PM

copson20 08-11-2008 11:37 PM

definately go for it, but you wont run long on stock valvetrain runnin over 7K rpms... it can do it but longevity of the elasticity of the springs at those rpms will get shot quick. definately build the valvetrain if you go that far (your investment is worth doing right)

if you bend a valve the rocker might get loose and float around under the valve cover, the lifter mite hit the cam n all kinds of other bad things... know from past experience

nice, let me know what numbers you put down/time you run. im going to be like double dynoing. first is 3 pulls all motor then 2nd is 3 pulls using spray (75-150 shot). then to the track!

copson20 08-11-2008 11:48 PM

good deal

balt21 08-12-2008 12:32 AM

thats cool guys, make sure you post up your numbers:twothumbs

bridfi 08-12-2008 12:56 AM

DO NOT get cams unless you upgrade your valvetrain. or keep your revs under 6000.

Spanky's Monkey 08-12-2008 09:31 AM

the patriot head is my head of choice however i'm not a fan of their valvetrain i will be installing my own using comp cams and ferrea components.

Did you get the adapter plate that C.E.D. designed for the 2.4 intake manifold swap?
It was originally made to restrict the amount of airflow into the TB so you wouldnt get a CEL
The first video clip of you car idling with your cams is sweet. Can't wait to put mine in

yes i did. just the cams need more air at low low rpms to run. but vince cant find the base running air flow tables to adjust it. he just thought of this idea to try and it worked. i went to jack n the box last night after the fix and one of the guys cam to the window was like " A CAMMED COBALT THAT IS SOME WICKED SHIT"!!!!

TurboTechRacing 08-12-2008 11:59 AM

FYI, We have a sale going on with the Comp Cams, check out the vendor special section or PM us for a $40.00 discount code!

HackAbuse 08-12-2008 12:03 PM

Keep in mind you can't rev much over 7k without removing your balance shafts though
