Yeah its not really a performance question, but i figured i'd put it in this forum as it does relate to the base and ls model cobalts. I was wondering if anyone knew how much the stock 15 in rims weighed. Not the steelies but the rims that come in the ls package. Im looking at new rims and knowing the weight of mine would help. Im not lazy but id rather not take them off my car and remove the tire just to see. Especially if anyone else already knew.

 

im assuming they are pretty heavy none the less... compared to any after-market racing rims.

 

what brand of rims are you planning on getting?

 

something that looks good and is cheap. Weight is a consideration, but isnt going to determine the outcome. I check gravanas site regularly, lots of motegis i like there. Especially the dp6's and ff7's in gun metal. My cobalt is sunburst orange, so im avoiding silver, white and other light colors.

Ive also looked at wheelmax.com, lots of cheap rims that dont seem too bad. Ive heard mixed reviews though about the sites service.

If anyone knows anything about wheelmax or about rims that might be useful to me let me know. thanks

 

i got mine from wheelsnext.com but before you order make sure you call them and ask if they are in stock they tend to leave out of stock items on their site, which really made me mad cuz like 3 different rims i wanted they didnt have....

 

the ls has 15" wheels? Mine are 16". Or do they come in different sizes depending on what ls you have?

 

The LS comes standard with 15" wheels. You can get 16" ones when you select the Sports Appearance Pkg.
