As far as I know... it only voids the warrantee if they can prove it was the cause of the problem

I wouldn't order it from them...will probably charge you an arm and leg for it. Search around online to find a better deal. They won't void the warranty esp since its a GM product, unless you put it on wrong and something does happen due to that fact.

The recall replaces the factory injectors because of the likelyhood of a crack developing on the upper end of the injector near the fuel rail. The injectors are not downgraded just redesigned to eliminate the chance of a dangerous fuel leak.

I'm scheduled for Wed AM. I'll take a look at the replacement injectors to see what the difference is.

I've taken my Cobalt into the dealership MANY times for warranty work and I have the Injen CAI... they didn't say anything and didn't seem to care.

Chances are that is what will happen in most cases -- an "enlightened" mechanic doesn't go ape over aftermarket equipment. The service manual requires a check for aftermarket equipment before starting to diagnose a problem and it's when you run into a mechanic/service manager that takes this to mean ANY aftermarket equipment, whether it affects the car's problem or not, that you probably run into conflicts.

If you ever run into a situation like this just stay calm and ask them to put it in writing. Then work the problem through the manager and then the regional office. Documentation is the key!

Went to the dealer today and they messed up -- they didn't have the new injectors in yet. I had to reschedule

That is all I know as of right now, the side airbag deal was for 05 2.2 coupes, and the injector recall was for 06's and higher I think, Im not too sure on that one seeing as I have an 05 ha, but I havent gotten a letter about the airbag one yet, and I wear my seatbelt all the time, and they said the improvement would only benefit those not wearing their seatbelts in the case of contact or an accident, iono but i think both recall articles are floating around here somewhere

Aftermarket parts dont void the warranty unless like FuzzMan stated GM can prove that the aftermarket part caused damage to another part. As far as the fuel injector recall there was a thread started back at the end of Jan. I actually called the dealership as soon as i got wind of it to see if i qualified for the recall and scheduled an appointment. I actually got the car in and taken care for about a week before I ever got a letter.

Lady at work dropped hers off at the local dealer. Took them 2 days to get to her car. I was like holy hell, just to pull the fuel rail and put new injectors on... i could of done that in like an hour or two.

Just got the new injectors installed. It took about an hour from turn-in to pick-up. As expected, I can't tell any difference in performance.

NOW I smell gas -- Should go away after some driving....

Your's probably already has the new PN 89060563 injectors. I think this recall was for 05-06 2.2Ls. You'll get a letter if your car is affected.
