turbo??
yes, only 05 and 06 and they have to be manual trannys, for the garret kit to work
the alpine will work but you have to do some tuning to the piggy back. they come running rich and i know a few people that had fuel building up in the intake manifold and blew it apart.

o man i was looking in to turboing my car in the summer... so with the alpine how would i tune it? Also would the alpine work with an auto tranny? I heard line pressure is an issue but is there a way to boost it or something? because i know alotta people like auto tranny to drag its hard to believe it couldnt support auto
GM also makes a complete 2.2 supercharger kit but the tune for it wont work because it is for the cavalier, but everything will bolt right up to the 2.2 in the cobalt. you would have to use the SMT-6 and 5th injector for tuning
or use the AEM fuel/ignition controller that allows you to swap out to larger injectors

you will need a wiring diagram, i got mine from my dad which he got from work.
after that there is a formula to use to do the adjustment for fuel tuning for the larger injectors. I wrote a microsoft excel sheet w/ formulas on how to swap out our stock injectors w/ 32 42.5 and 60 lb injectors and make them operate like stock sized injectors, which would set you up for tuning the engine for boost.
The aem also has a built in MAP sensor and the computer auto adjust the fuel curve for when you are under boost or not under boost.
if you are electronicly impared then it might be difficult. but if you can install a radio and a sound system then this wont be that hard.

I'm sending you a PM with contact info if you wouldn't mind hooking me up with the info you have on installation. You would save me a ton of time!
It doesnt auto adjust. You input how much fuel by % your going to remove when using larger injectors. Theres nothing automatic about it. You need to know what your doing and where to input the data for the FIC to work properly.

Basically you have the fuel map. You must put in a negative # in EVERY cell of that fuel map which i have posted the formula's in another thead many many months ago. What the FIC does is takes the pulse width coming from the ECM and drops it the % you entered in the map so that the larger injectors are still injecting the same amount of fuel. If you take a 24lb injector and send it x pulse width, and a 42lb injector the same pulse width. Your going to get A LOT more fuel out of the 42lb injector. So the FIC converts the signal so the larger injectors put out the same amount of fuel as the 24lb'ers would have. So the car runs like it did stock but with larger injectors.
