Turbo'd f23 2.2l auto swap?

I was wondering if anybody has upgraded to a built auto?

I blew out the f23 in my car and looking for better options.

I don't care how street friendly it will be. Just as long as it works.

Been reading about a few autos but nothing seems promising.

Any and all ideas are welcome.

How much power?

4T45e most likely wont be good enough so you would have to invest in 4t65e

I'm around 420whp. I would run anything that will hold the power within reason. I can dead hook 3rd so it needs to take a beating.

Zzp sells a built 4t45e trans swap?

Maybe I can do the f40 manual swap. Haven't been into mods for this car for a while.

What turbo are you running?

why you want an auto? F40 would be sweet just for 6 gears but if your looking for an auto I would do ZZP's 4t45, I know a couple guys who have ran them

We'll if it's not super expensive id do it.

I just don't want to keep replacing f23s

Anyone know of any auto that could be installed? I don't care if I can't street it well. I'll run a standalone trans tune if needed.

4.41 gears F23 with LSD built by Powell should run about 2k, not an exact figure just an estimate I was given. I don't think you'll have to worry about breaking that.

Really if you do a bunch of racing, Auto is the way to go.

So what does that improve over stock with the gearing? What all does he upgrade in it?

Lower final drive would be the big thing. Takes stress off the gears.

andrewcarr1993 03-09-2014 12:12 AM

It's got the lower final drive which takes stress off in each gear (as stated) but also adds a LSD which is another good thing. Each gear would be shorter so quicker acceleration but a lower top speed.

I don't need quicker acceleration at all. Once it spools it moves very well even in 4th. LSD would be a plus but I don't need it.

The main thing is the stress reduction in each gear. You wouldn't have to go 4.41 they make a 4.23 (or about there) but then again they could break the lower final drive you go. You could just keep using cheap junkyard F23 transmissions since they are only ~$300.

Yeah I don't do the trans install myself. I'd rather pay once to have it done.

I shoulda just modded another diesel than this dumb car. Diesel is so much better.
