tranny holds 236 or 268 pounds or torque,as for the block itself, regardless you will need to do some motor work.

Auto tranny yes.....the manual NO..it only holds 170ft/tq unless you tear it apart and shot peen gears 3, 4, 5 and R, 1/2 you cannot shot peen. However, after you shot peen 3, 4, 5, R, then you good to about 230ft/tq with 1, 2 at 170ft/tq...which doing this is time consuming and is really worthless.

How are you mounting it? Could be tricky without a complete kit.

That depends on the amount of boost he's planning on running.

Where do you plan on mounting it? Isn't the passenger side of the car, where the belt is, kinda cramped already?

on the j-body forums there are some cavis that are pushing 250whp on the F23 w/ no modifications/reinforcements and have been fine for 3+ years so far. i think the F23 was really underrated from the factory.

Just an FYI the 2.2 and the 2.4 automatics are different inside. The 2.4 has a different valve body, pump, and gearing then the 2.2's.

But the F23 is exactly the same between the 2.2 and 2.4. theres already guys on jbody that have proven the F23 to take over 300lb/tq for thousands of miles. he even took his tranny apart to prove that there is no additional wear to it. Its pretty cool.

What I said came straight from Getrag in Italy, actually from one of the design engineers that made the F23. Granted SOME people are pushing higher numbers through it doesn't mean it will work for everybody.

NO its not. I posted the part break down when I worked FOR GM in the parts department of Miller Brothers Chevrolet. I then faxed the pages directly from the GM parts computer to Denny who in turn posted them up here for all to see. The 2.2 and 2.4 automatic transmissions are not the same part. The 2.4 has a different valve body, pump and final drive ratio. That = not the same.

*NOTE* I believe it was Denny who posted the pics, its been a few years so I may have named the wrong mod.

He's not talking about the auto!!!!!!!!!!! F23 = manual. The only difference is the final drive gear IIRC.

you should be able to pump out around 200 whp at 10 psi .. depending on the trim.. also what series blower with what direction of spin do you have ? you might not be able to use it

oh yea and the f23 is good for only 170 whp just like the f35 is only good for 275....

seriously though i'm doing a procharger setup ( similar in the fact it's a centri sc) and there was a 2.2 ion that had a c1 procharger on his car

and we couldn't just go with the regualr c1 that ever sport compact uses we have to go with the one from the g35 which i think is a reverse spin.. if i remember i think you need a http://www. vortechsuperchargers .com/product.php?p=6&cat_key=17 long as the same principle applies since thats the one in their g35 kit
