Injen FTW! Don't know much about Secret Weapon-R's except they use two channels to flow air for more velocity or something?

intakes

yep, AEM, Injen, or K&N are your best bet....mostly range around $250....unless you want to go with the $50 JDM...which seem like they may never come back in

I have the Weapon-R 3" intake, and its AWESOME. I bought that and a K&N filter and drycharger filterwrap(to keep water out) . I used to have the K&N typhoon, but when i put the w-r coupled with the K&N filter, it was a dead-on match. UNBELIEVABLE how much 1/2" can make when it comes to the intake

From what I've heard Weapon-R's are pretty sweet but a little pricey. But best bang for the buck is the Injen, a lot of the vendors have GB's on them.

depends on whether it's a short ram or a cai...short ram will pull in hot air which can be bad. Otherwise I have the wr short ram in my car and it's solid.

with the injen you can go short ram or cold air in 15 mins or less. nothing like having the best of both worlds.

now that's the best bang for your buck.

the Weapon-R is less then the injen, k&n and AEM

right now they're $190 shipped on ebay.

depending on the gb price

ANYONE HAVE THIS DYNOED? i don't trust the company cuz they say it increases air flow 3 times stock air filters..

they advertise that the foam filter allows 80% more air flow andb etter dirt filtration then the conventional cotton filter, so why would you but your cotton filter on?

weapon r doesnt look appealing, and what good is a intake if it dont look nice, oh and intake dont add that much hp on our 2.2's, i have dyno'd using 3 diffrent ones...they all did the same, avg 2whp...this is the jdm, the gmpp, and a custom 3" short ram

First, the Weapon-R I have is NOT a short ram, it is a full CAI, and for the reasons with the filter, i dont want the foam filter sucking up water, so i put the K&N on, and the K&N is not a traditional cotton filter, it may be cotton, but it is not the traditional style they are advertising about beating.

Ill be going with the Injen. Have the K&N cai now but it touches the ABS lines, and has rubbed a small hole in the intake tube. Injen comes with a 90* elbow coupler that connects the TB and intake tube. From what it looks like it dosnt touch the ABS lines.

you do relize this is the 2.2 section, the weapon r for the 2.2 is a short ram 2 piece welded together pipe with a filter on it...looks like crap on the outside...

they have the piping fliped the wrong way in the pic

This intake is pretty good. A buddy of mine had it on his cobalt. Just make sure you get the ram air kit that hooks up to the filter and run it down to the bumper like a cai.
