What to do

Ok so i have an 08' Cobalt LS Coupe, now i wanna make it more aggressive possibly lighter whatever i can do to improve its speed and so on......now a few of my friends tell me there isnt much that can be done with this car in terms of speed unless i do an engine swap.....with taxes coming in and what not i wanna do somethin pretty nice to it so any suggestions for things that would make a big difference that would cost $300 maybe 400 thats about all i can afford at the moment.....any help would be appreciated lol FLAME ON!?!?!?

engine swap is not a possiblity, not with your price range or anything close

the best you could do is maybe an intake? probably not worth the money though... save it and take your girlfriend on a mini vacation

Don't even waste your time man, unless you're REALLY dedicated to dropping money into you car it's just not worth it. The only reason I still do it is because I'm to far in to give-up now. If you really want a huge difference. Wait and save the money up to TC/SC it. That's where you will see the huge gains.

Look at these to kind of get an idea of what you want and how much to save if you decide to go this route.

TC kit
SC kit

Your friends are morons. And you need to punch them in the face, and kick them in the dick. You can find a used SC setup for under 1200$ if you look hard enough. That'll give you a nice kick, but not 300 horses.

S/C kit. is it 5spd or auto... eitherway SC kit off an LSJ can be had for cheap. $1200 is doable.

if ur auto turbo is a nono... it CAN be done safe, but S/C IS safe. and moar power. swap to 5spd=not worth it IMO.

http://www.gm sport compact .net/for...urbo-vs.-Super

you have to take the spaces otu cause they are gay here... but that is a thread about S/C vs TC on a LAP

honestly man, SC or TC is the EASIEST way to get HP out of that car.... other optino is forge the bottom and and hit it with spray... that'll get you to 300HP.... BUT its unrealiable (ish) and you gotta fill that bottle. AND your auto so bad idea.

If you did just a stock SS SC, you'd be in the 200HP ballpark. Price range I'm not 100% sure. Under 1200$ for parts, not sure on labor though. Then from there you can pulley down, bigger injectors, ect. But the more HP, the more supporting mods you will need.

Haha, I know. Then add a couple hundred for a tune. And done.

And PS. Going from 145 to 200 is 1/3 more HP then you started with. It will make a huge difference to you...untill you get bored again

You can start by taking your spare out of the trunk, that will give you about 3 horsepower.
