What's first!

I've finished all the mods I've wanted to do for appearance Interior and Exterior, It's time for me to move into the performance category and I'm looking for what the first big step would be. I drive an LS 2006 sedan, with the air silencer removed. My goal is for a lot of acceleration between 0-80, what would the first step be that everyone else would take?

Trade it in for a LNF or LSJ

On a more serious note look into a full exhaust. Shorty or mid-length headers, catless DP, and 2.5'' exhaust.

I have it paid off, I'm wondering if I trade it in how much I sapped my reselling price with everything I've done to it. It currently has 63k miles, and I added: Tinted tails, black emblems, tinted windows, interior neon, head unit, subs with amp, door speakers, removed air silencer, added SS cluster, added power windows and locks, black hubcaps. Now I feel like doing all this will big time hurt me trading in this car.. What do you guys think?

You won't get more then like $4-6k trade-in. Keep it and boost it.

Will it be much cheaper and convenient this way?

Not as convenient since you'll have to do more work, but it'll probably cost roughly the same.

It never hurts to see what the dealer would give you for your car though. I've had my trade-in value appraised a couple times out of curiosity.

I mean I'm perfectly fine with a used SS/SC or TC if the prices balance out right but I HIGHLY doubt seeing that happen with an LS =p

To boost your car right, it's prolly gonna START OFF running in the neighborhood of about $5000 or so. Depending on how far you go with it.

Sounds like a used SC or TC would be my best option?

Well you're probably looking at a $4-6k difference to get into an LSJ and $6-8k to get into a LNF.

It's your choice really. The SS trims are much nicer IMO. I think the upgrade would be worth it, but you should go test drive one of each and see if it's worth it for you.

Maybe $50 - $100. They dont really give you anything for upgrades on the cars that you trade in. If you could sell privately you would get more for your upgrades and car overall. Trade in and you usually get raped.

That's the only thing. They won't like most of the mods because dealers only like mostly stock cars.

How much are you trying to spend? What are you goals?

Read this and it will help you get in the right mindset:

Nice article, I learned a lot! I think after reading this it'd be best to just wait until I can afford a SC or TC so I have something beefier to work with.
