Worried about adding power...

So, I have refused to do anything to my SLOBALT to make it faster than stock for mostly one reason. I was under the belief the that transmission couldn't take it. I read the specs for the getrag 5 spd, and its rated for a few more ft. lbs. than the engine gives out. I'm paranoid that I'll break something. Do any of you guys take that into consideration when adding HP? Or is it just me being worried. I don't like broken things.

just trying to use a lttle e-speak and i came off sounding like a douche. i'm getting into this nitrous thing though and the evo mod is gonna be bad ass just as long as that fool doesn't get all junky on me and blow his engine before i get to drive it. that guys a real speed freak. fast car and all he talks about is adding power. cams, tune, big turbo and now after driving the little slobalt with the juice he can't wait to get bottle fed.

the f23 can handle a lot more than 155ft/lbs.. http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...=32698&t=32698

read and enjoy modding your car. unless you beat the bejesus out of your tranny every day when you shift it will handle a lot more than 155.
