2.2 header and lsj header

what is the difference between our stock 2.2 header and the 2.0 lsj header

cobalt523 04-10-2010 02:23 AM

the lsj will bolt up and add horses and torque, the lsj is bigger, there are threads on this look them up

09blackonblack 04-27-2010 04:46 PM

^^^ 07+ 2.2 manifolds are the same size. the lsj manifold just has a provision for the o2 sensor in it.

Gene Culley 04-27-2010 10:19 PM

Sorry, but the information here is incorrect. I know because I have the LSJ header and LSJ DP on my car. The stock 2.2 header is much smaller, and does not allow as much flow. The 2.2 header is longer and the 2.2 DP is shorter. The LSJ header is shorter, but the DP is longer. So, if you want to use LSJ DP or header, you must use both or it will not fit. But trust me when I tell you, the header is certainly smaller on the stock 2.2.

ikeryder13 04-27-2010 10:20 PM

i have a lsj header for sale

09blackonblack 04-27-2010 11:02 PM

by looking at both of them side/side they are almost identical besides the o2 sensor hole in the lsj

ItalianJoe1 04-27-2010 11:04 PM

If you are looking for a little more bang for your buck outta that LSJ manifold, have it ported. I can do it, did a bunch of them back in the day, gain a couple hp and still look stock.

07SuperchargedSS 04-28-2010 02:24 PM

And FYI stock is an exhaust manifold not a header!!! Header's are tubular.

thats not correct either, that was a Auto to manual comparison lol,all the manifold on the outside are the same, its the runners and collector thats different i also have a lsj mani with slight polishing for sale as well, there the same ive had both side by side

1LowLS 04-28-2010 02:37 PM

Just was about to post this, for clarification.

i called it a manifold first :)

Sorry, I don't think so. I have a manual and this was the case with my manual vehicle. Header (exhaust manifold) was longer and downpipe was shorter. LSJ exhaust manifold shorter, LSJ DP longer.

09blackonblack 04-29-2010 09:36 PM

not trying to discredit you gene but you also had sai. i dont the manifolds and the downpipes are the same length.

I had both of them laid out on my floor and they were certainly different lengths. I'm not by any means an idiot dude. Why do you try to discredit everything I say, for christ sake.

09blackonblack 04-29-2010 11:24 PM

i dont. but i do disagree with you on this. i have both here in my house let me check again. but i remember looking at the downpipe and them being the same. and im pretty sure i have NEVER discredited you on anything before. and never said you were an idiot. the only other thing i have said to you was asking you about how much hp you had and what all you used in your build when you first got it done. anyway back on topic let me check them.

Gene Culley 05-02-2010 07:01 PM

The proof is in the pudding. This is what the difference looked like for me. PS. Also notice LSJ DP is slightly longer, as I stated.

lay one on top of the other. the downpipe very well could be longer. i will stick my foot in my mouth now.

reason it could be longer is the motor sits different in the ss than the ls/lt. my ss/tc downpipe sits about 1/2-3/4 of an inch off my swaybar. (partly due to the way the catback fits in the base model

top of flange to top of flange on each end seems to be almost identical.

It is as simple as I mentioned before... LSJ DP is longer and LSJ exhaust manifold is shorter. LAP DP shorter, LAP exhaust manifold longer.

RooTBeeR 05-02-2010 08:04 PM

now line those up in the other order, lsj closer to the cam and the 2.2 farther away from the cam, they are the same length, its like an optical illusion...how much longer do u think the lsj dp is than the 2.2? have you taken a measuring tape to them?

BlaqkBalt 05-09-2010 07:34 PM

anyone auto put the lsj h/dp on their cars?
i wanna make sure this'll fit

09blackonblack 05-09-2010 10:42 PM

wont fit the auto. manifold will, dp wont. they are different in the sense the auto sits in a different position than the standard.

BlaqkBalt 05-09-2010 11:21 PM

fml right.. where can i get a 2.5in dp. every place ive seen is 3in !!

09blackonblack 05-10-2010 07:37 AM

zzp.
