so im thinking about a bike.. im tired of having a slowbalt (my view of it) so im thinking about a 1000cc bike.. any one know of a good bike out there?

What kind of rider are you? It all depends.

 

Really depends on preference. Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Ducati Etc.

Also something you feel comfortable on.

 

Best bike : turbo bike hayabusa if you like dying because its too powerfull haha

+1 Triumph. I have a Suzuki Gladius at the moment but a Street Triple will be my next.

 

Sold at the beginning of this year when the baby was on the way. If I had to do it again I'd get another Triumph or go big with a 848.....in white......mmmmmmmm.

 

I loved my nine it had sort of a muscle car with cammed v8 feel in bike form, I can't wait to get her back on the road, since I don't really care for new bikes they are just too smooth, and even tho they are way faster they feel electric and boring for every day riding, I gotta feel the vibrations from the motor rumbling, I would go for a duc if they weren't so damn expensive to own, but my next bike will more than likely be a bonneville I've always wanted a vintage "looking" bike, + if I get bored I could turn it into a cafe and fight it around the bends, lol, that would more than likely keep me entertained for a bit, and my 9 should hopefully still be in the garage so I can get some speed fix with it, lol

 

Go with a ducati monster. 1000cc's of pure sex!

I have a Buell XB12R. The parts are slowing down, regardless of the law that HD needs to keep 'em coming for 7 years after discontinuing a model. But the reason I mention it is because it's a fun bike. All Sportsters and derivatives are fun. I think the Buell is the best of 'em, but because of the parts prob, I won't recommend it to you. But they'll probably have parts for Sportsters themselves forever. With exotics, on the other hand, sometimes you can't get parts for the current model without waiting.

So I'd recommend the new XR-styled Sportster if you have the cash, and if you don't, a 2004 Roadster, because in 2004, they made the Sportster OK for distance by rubber mounting the engine (I did the IBR Saddle Sore 1000 and Bun Burner 1500 and when I get the bike back, I'm going for the Bun Burner Gold). Plus the bike has belt drive, very reliable and no messing with chains. The tank is a little bigger (the regular Sporty tank is annoyingly small), and this model also has dual front discs. If you shop carefully, you can get one that's barely broken in for $4k or so.

Mainly, it's a great daily ride. It has enough torque so you're not fishing around for the right gear when you need to get gone fast. The exhaust note is satisfying. Handling is OK for all Sportsters. Parts are easy to come by. You'll never be the fastest or trendiest thing around, but nobody ever is, at least not for long. And the Sportster is a classic. If you buy a bike that's just like any other bike except that it edges out the others by a little, a couple years from now, it'll be yesterday's bubble gum.

 

Not much turth to be had here because they never made a 07 636. 06 was the last year for the 636 and they are some of the best and most powerful 600 cc class bikes built. My 04 636 has 16k miles and has never let me down and trust me there are 1000cc bikes that can't come close to my 6dirty6, its called a rider mod one of the best things you can do to your bike.

 

But I would NEVER recommend a 1000cc bike to anyone that hasn't ridden very long or never before, 160+ hp 360lbs on 2 wheels is nothing to under estimate or take lightly.

 

Or maybe just go big turbo/built on the balt and then it wont be your "slobalt" anymore and will be fast enough.

You probably wont kill yourself with the above setup and 2 doors and a roof over your head to protect you.

But if your looking for plain speed your probably not responable enough yet for a bike and possibly will end up hurting yourself badly

675 are nice bikes, but I have my eye on a 05 speed triple.
