Okay, so my coworker recently bought a 2000 v6 camaro auto. He's been braggin how its the **** and is always askin to race me, even wants to put money on it. I know I can't beat him with just the stock 2.2l. My question is would I need to have get forced induction to beat him or could I do some good bolt ons and a tune?

Really you think? I've driven like a 96 v6 before and it didn't seem like the acceleration was very good.

 

My brothers base RSX could beat his friends v6 00 camaro.

my old 88 v6 auto was slow as ****. the 2000 has a bigger motor than mine did but the weight and lack of power is still there.

Hey you will beat him ive raced my friends 3.8 mustang and my other friend has a 4.0 v6 mustang and i beat them both! the cars are pretty dang heavy so thats what helps you out! and I just have exhaust and intake!

i can beat a v6 mustang pretty easily with full bolt ons and a tune, idk about a new camaro but you should be able to give him a pretty decent run

 

My lightly modded 2.4 would significantly pull on it, I'm sure you'd stay at least even if not pull...your friend is very mislead.

 

umm Yeah you will beat it. I'm stock besides a strut bar & beat them. Also I may remind you all that a v6 mustang is nothing to beat.... most anything can.

 

im not really sure how we switched from camaro to mustang lol but thanks for the info. he's definately not a car guy, he just thinks since its a camaro it can take out anyone. i told him in the spring id race him so by then hopefully ill have a some good mods. id rather smoke his ass then barely beat him ya know!

The new V6 Camaro is 300 hp V6 and while not a road rocket shouldn't have any problem handleing a 2.2 Cobalt.

Tell the guy to stop acting like a dick just cause he has a brand new base model Camaro. Aks him how much he paid for the "thrill" of that 300 hp VS what you paid for your car. Seriously getting a V6 Camaro and acting the way he is cracks me up! He buys a girls Camaro and then thinks he's Billy Bad ass! Totaly ******* priceless! Here's what you do man, the next time this ass nuget wants to pick on you just start to laugh, laugh and point! After a few moments then YOU ask HIM if he has to pick on guys with 2.2 powered cars to feel like a man after buying his girly V6 Camaro.

if its a 2000 you will lose. around 2000 they changed the engine to 200 horse, the years before that i beat stock cuz they only have like 150

My buddy has an older Camaro, 1998 if I had to guess, 6-speed, and I blew it away stock.
