I had a big problem with it. When I put the 1" hose onto my hose coming from the pump, as instructed, it kinked my stock hose. What I did was cut the elbow off and putting a soft bend over the altenator. This was the only way I was able to keep my factory hose from kinking. I told K & N and they said they could not find a problem with it. You should call K & N and let them know.

this is interesting considering how many people said it fit perfectly.

you guys are aware that the motor sits differently between automatic and manual?

that may be the problem.

thats one reason why there are transmission specific motor mounts and why stock LSJ downpipes don't fit automatics.

I installed my K&N Tycoon today and mine won't fit right!!! I do not have SRI so I pluged my hole. My problem is the metal housing (heat shield) is rubbing on the frame behind the light and motor making a squeeking you can hear inside. Anyone run into this?

I had the same problem. Try swapping provided mounts. It will fit, it will just take some massaging. As far as the air pump, this is a pump that sucks air. If the hose is not perfect, it will burn up your pump. It won't throw a trouble light until it is burnt up..

I have already said something to K & N about this bad fit. I think everyone should as well.

I emailed K&N and they responded very quickly. They are sending me a new heat shield. I will update on the new fitment.

I got the new heat shield in last night and it was the exact same shield. Just for giggles I took the whole thing apart and put it back together with the new heat shield and had the same problem. I am talking to a guy at K&N to see if I can return it. I have never ran into this before and I have installed MANY of these!

I also had the "squeaking" noise between the heat shield and the body. Same as Alexander, I uses a small square piece of rubber and put it between the two and like magic... no more squeaking

I have an automatic 2009 2.2 LAP and the the K&N rubber elbow to the throttle body seems to fit fine??? Had no problems with it "popping" off. My suggestion would be to loosen off everything and fit the throttle body end first, tighten down all the clamps and then push the tube, heat shield and filter down into place and tighten. Hope this helps.
