Is a lap wiring harness comparable with a le5 engine

I’m building a circle track Racecar it’s a 2009 Chevy cobalt and I’m about to send the wiring harness and computer in to get tuned and become a stand alone wiring harness but I’m planning on putting in a le5 2.4 and was wondering if I can put the le5 in using my wiring harness or if I should get a whole le5 wiring harness and have that tuned instead

They are aimilar but not the same. Unless you want to dig into diagrams and modify it, its not worth it.

If you're sending the harness somewhere to be modified it's probably not worth it to send them the 2.2 harness (the $50-$100 you'll spend on the harness is not much compared to how much you're likely about to spend). Just find an LE5 harness to send them and make sure your harness and computer match.

The throttle body may or may not be compatible. Not sure on the coils and injectors.

I should have read your question more closely, my mistake. The wiring CAN be different bewteen the two, but if youre putting the LE5 in an 09 car, it should be a direct swap.

okat sorry so just so I’m clear you’re saying I can just drop in a newer le5 engine using my old wiring harness?
