lsj header and dp?

Hey guys. As most of you know I've got an ss catback exhaust on my car now and I also have the headers and dp to match. I know I have to remove one relay and two fuses to remove sai as well as physically remove the parts for it, but my question is can I drive around with those cel's that I'll get? will it affect my performance negatively other than having a shiny orange light in my dash? Or is it a must to have it flashed out?

You'll be able to drive around fine, but any type of inspections or emissions is not going to work out.

Ok. Thanks a bunch gene. I do plan on having it done right I just dint have money right now to spend in the tune. Buying a house has left me broke. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't put my car in a limp mode or something where I'd lose performance.

Why not get a real header and not just another exhaust manifold?

The reason I did it this way was because of cost. I got an ss header with less than 3k and a dp with less than 1k for 50 shipped to my door. find me an aftermarket even used for that cheap. For my car, the sizes are perfect, I don't need anything too fancy to be honest. I'll do that when I go sc.

A real header? I got mine from ZZ Performance. GM makes the SS manifolds

From what I've been told, the LSJ exhaust manifolds are the same manifold that they put on the 08+ 2.2L......but idk for sure.

it's a different size header. even if it were the same inside diameter, it allows me to use the much larger lsj dp with it.

I gotcha. The stock downpipe is pretty small. Does yours have a cat and a resonator in it? Mine did.

Yes. which is really why I wanna go lsj header and dp. I'm just analyzing cost to performance. I can spend five times as much money on aftermarket, but will i get five times the performance? five times the power? probably not. it just worked out very well for me to get the lsj parts.

It doesnt say on there, but do they allow for all the O2 sensors and such, so I dont get a check engine light?

You wont get 5X the power...........but what an aftermarket header will do, is shift your torque curve so that you get MUCH stronger low-mid range torque. For my car you can start to feel it around 2,500 and it builds from there. Whereas before I couldnt feel anything until the 3,500 mark. That's just my 2 cents.

Yes. It comes with 2 O2 sensor holes. 1 in the header and 1 in the downpipe. They have an option where you can add a third if you would like. As for the CEL, I havent gotten one yet, but when I get tuned (once Vince is back from his month long vacation) I'm having the code removed just in case.

^If you have a 2.2L and those are you only plans, don't get a 3" exhaust. I've read that a 2.25" mandrel bent or a 2.5" press bent exhaust is the perfect size for a N/A four cylinder. At that size you actually create a partial vacuum within you exhaust. When that happens, your exhaust system actually helps pull the exhaust gases out of you engine.

I thought you wanted to do 3. As for complete cat backs, the only 2.25" you can get is a stainless steel Mangnaflow.

No, only thing i have 3" exhaust on is my Nissan, and it will be making over 350whp at the end of the year.

What about the header? The one i found collects to 2.5"
What site is the magnaflow on?

Go to Mangnaflow's website. An exhaust shop told me about it. It was like $900 though. As for the header I would think you could bolt a 2.5" downpipe to a 2.25" catback. It's only a 0.25" diametrical difference. Use a gasket for 2.5". The flanges should compensate for the difference.
