LSJ valve cover

Would there be any benefit or even fit on your engines?

I am actually in the process right now of modifying a LSJ valve cover to fit my L61 Sunfire. I have both covers, and have just started drawing up the few parts that will be made/modified. Here is my post from my other forums. Is the delta l61 cover the same as the jbody cover?

The IDI/coilpack mounting issue is gonna be a bit more complicated then I thought at first. But we will come up with something. The first two pics should the difference in how they stuff mounts on each cover.

Underside of L61 cover

The underside of the LSJ valve cover. Nothing here will hinder my attempts to put this on my car.

The LSJ valve cover does not have the area that will contact the block around the spark plugs, besides the seal area. That is no big deal thoughAnd it also does not have the extra little tabs/nipples, whatever you wanna call them that are shown in the L61 cover.

L61 cover showing extra tabs/nipples.

The two side by side. You can see what needs to be done to make the LSJ work.

The point is that I like the LSJ valve covers looks better then the L61's, and I have the ability to modify it without spending any money other then the 40 bucks the LJS cover cost me.

These are a few parts I need to order to make this complete. The coilpack is moddified to work now, and was the first piece that I did anything on. The valve cover is painted and ready. I jsut need to order these parts, and get the half moon from my DSM buddy, and I am set.

This is the shield that covers the fuel rail/injectors.

Just an update. I have had the LSJ cover on my l61 for months now, and besides a little seapage from the half moon gasket (my fault) there are no issues.

But the cover will fit the same on a cobalt due to the length of the cams. on a jbody l61, i had to plug the half moon shaped spot on the exhaust cam side of the cover.
