Supercharge XFE

I was just wondering if this would be any different than any other 2.2? It won't happen for a few years or so, but I would like to plan it out. Would my trans not hold? I've gotten a few comments about this in other threads. What do you peeps think about me doin this? (p.s. flamesuit at cleaners so be easy)

It has the same engine as my GT... so you'll see what happens when I do mine. I'm not going to wait years for the warranty to be over. I'm gathering up the parts now.

No. The motors are the same. The only differences with the XFE is skinnier tires and they removed a few of the creature comforts to cut down on costs.

slightly more MPG friendly base tune as well, but you'd get a retune anyway, so that really doesnt matter

Leave the stock tires on. It'll be fun to spin through 4th.

It can be done. The 2.2L LAP is essentially the same as the L61 2.2L, the only difference being is the LAP has VVT. So a supercharged LAP is defiantly possibly seeing how the L61 has been proven to be supercharged.

poooosibly a different final drive, but im pretty sure its the 2.2l final drive. I know the 2.4 has a shorter final drive than the 2.2 though, even though they both use the F23 tranny.

what was your reason for buying an xfe? It's clearly labeled as a pure fuel economy/commuter car.

This is true, but look at how many people mod out cars like Honda Fits and Toyota Yaris's. Maybe he wants a fun fuel sipper. Or maybe he bought the car initially just for commuting purposes, and after joining this forum and seeing what other people had done to their Cobalts, he got bit by the mod bug and wants to spruce his commuter car up now.

from my understanding any manual in LS/LT was an XFE. Hell if those are the only differences it don't really matter until i mod it. I'm saving more money than you guys are that are waiting to mod. I didn't know it was an XFE until i picked it up, 4 hours after i did all the paper work

the XFE has special equipment comared to the regular LS manual 2.2. The biggest difference being low rolling resistance tires and a slightly tweaked tune

good luck driving a xfe in michigan winter
i couldnt stand my 07 2.2, i got 0 traction all winter - and the xfe's rim/tires are about 1" thinner with harder tires that have worse traction and weather rating

almost!

the xfe package is only taller tires to help with mpg a slightly different tune. but yea you were almost there

as far as super charging it shouldent be any different cuz your gonna retune for the supercharger any way.
