hi there ok so i have a 2009 cobalt LT automatic and when ever i put it in low gear a light comes on saying "TRACTION OFF".. what does that mean?

also when ever i launch my car -as in hold in the foot brake and give it some gas the info screen says "LOW TRACTION".

p.s. the reason im asking is cause the dealer didnt give me a booklet on my car and they are out of them.. thank you

 

when you put the car out of drive traction shuts off meaning the computer wont do anything if your wheels start spinning.
low traction is basically the tires inability to grip, so the computer cuts fuel to reduce wheel spin.

with an lt you aren't gonna get wheel spin at the track. But if you wanna turn off the traction control, lift the parking brake up one click
