Trans Swap

First off i want to say i just joined this site.

ok and now for the topic i want to disscus, I have a 2009 Cobolt LS 4 door and i was wondering if i can to do a transmission swap from a automatic to a manual. i know its possible but can anyone give me advice? i orginally wanted to do a 2.0 SS swap but seeing that its 4-5k for the engine alone im trying to see if there are cheaper methods.

-thanks

I have a much better idea for you. Don't spend any money at all on the car and when you have finally saved up enough money sell yours and get the SS (hopefully the TC) you really wanted all along.

There really isn't any point in putting that much money into a car when for now much more you can just get the better car.

You pretty much need a donor car, boatloads of work.

Just rock the auto.

You are only a turbo kit, pistons, and rods away from a beast.

Yup. Easier than a manual because the back of the engine has more room

yeaaaaaa definitely do not waste the time to do an engine and trans swap. besides, automatic is better for the dragstrip anyway if your looking to go fast. i love my manual, but there is a reason why my nova is an automatic lol. if u got the money, just boost your current set up. zzp is the way to go for that.

Stocker can take 300whp, just be smart and realize heat is the enemy so watch tranny temps and don't beat on it until the atf boils.

and what he said^^ buy a separate trans cooler for it instead of using the one in the radiator. that would help keep things cooler.
