I'd highly recommend getting a full exhaust system (headers, downpipe, and catback). I just completed mine but I should've done it long time ago. Then if you have some money left, get a tune.

well that was my original plan but i don't want to drop $1k for 15-20 WHP. what gains can i see with a full exhaust. b/c my other threads about exhaust no one provided dyno numbers

Exhaust should be good for around 8-12 HP depending on other mods and tune....

Magnaflow 2.5" on www.TurboTechRacing.com would be a nice choice:

http://www.turbotechracing.com/produ...idproduct=2699

^It will be a direct bolt up for your G5...

ok well lets say i decide to save a little more money and get boost, would leaving the stock exhaust on there restrict it that much? like what numbers could i see with a SC'd set up w/ no other supporting mods, except the SC set up and injectors

Yes you without a doubt will want a larger exhaust system, if you go with boost. Numbers cant be stated as there are way to many "unknowns"

You can't go wrong with getting an exahust...

i know and that was my original plan was to do full exhaust, but to me the gains just aren't worth that much money b/c this will be the last amount of money i spend on my car for a very long time and i want it to be something worth wild. not 10 hp

Exhaust and intakes will get you the best power per dollar, unless you go with nitrous... There is not a miricle mod that is cheap and give huge power... 10-12 HP is a good number just for an exhaust.

well if wanna supercharge the car at least you should upgrade to LSJ exhaust sytem, otherwise it's not worth boosting the car if your not gonna get the most out of it. I didn't "feel" my stage 2 until I got my full exhaust. but yeah... power will show gradually as you add mods to your car. $1K will get you closer but to your max potential. so to each his own.

i can see no good is going to come out of this. if you want real performance you need reliability, and with those you need money. if you dont have plans for that, then buy your system or save the money.

btw, i got a 08 cobalt ls 5spd with 16k miles on it, and im already piling turbo parts in my room. including engine build
