06 to 07 Steering wheel?

Anyone know if the new 07 3 spoke leather wheel will swap with the 06 4 spoker? I have radio, cruise etc on the wheel.

no because of the radio is now on the steering wheel aswell theres no wires in there.

you mean you want the 06 wheel in your 07 cars wheel place. why would you want that. you would just have extra wires is all i dont dare take another steering column apart god almighty couldnt fix that damn thing

I have an 06 4 spoke I want to go to an 07 3 spoke. Both have radio and cruise control on the wheels. My question was has anyone done the swap?

not that i know of but im sure someone has. the thing is steering columns are a bitch to work on specially with air bags. you gotta tear it all apart its probly a whole day thing about half a day maybe. i did my standard shift s10 with no options took 2 days. to get it right and its still not right from like last year lol.

definitely would be a lot of work like he said, especially with having to deal with the airbag and stuff. although the 07's steering wheel looks so much better than the old one, i would know haha

You would need the entire column . The steering wheel will bolt right up to the 05-06 column , but then the electronics will play major hell with u . The airbag connectors wont be the same . In 2007 they also moved the controls for the DIC to the steering wheel and the entire dash harness in the 2007's is different . So I doubt , even if u had a entire 2007 steering column , it would plug into an 05-06 harness . And then after if by chance everything was swapped over and works , theres no way to test the bag to see if the 05-06 SIR module will inflate the air bag correctly .

It kinda sucks a swap that seems so simple on the surface is actually next to impossible . I wanted the wheel too ,but given the electrical issues .....Im not running around with a airbag in front of my face that had to be modified to work .

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll pass and also say to redesign all this stuff is complete idiocy (a comprehensive re-design and re-tooling for a slightly different set up) . And GM wonders why they are losing money.

If you really wanted to, then I say just swap the whole column out and get the '07 column/wheel with the proper electronics and wiring. Just the steering wheel won't work, but I'm sure the whole assembly would work fine. Don't get me wrong......I love my 3-spoke, but I don't think itd be a worth-while mod for you.

Btw, GTP, can those guys still tune my car? I've been having wheel issues (one nail in a tire and a bent wheel) so once I get that sorted out ill hopefully build the funds to pay them for HP Tuners tuning and the dyno session. Likely within a month or so. Let me know. Thanks.
