Hey guys i just got my cobalt ss a few weeks ago and my best friend has a Tc and has been begging me to race him.. we are about the same in the driving skills department so i say it will be the cars that make the differance.. The only mod the Tc has is a HKS hi power exaust and the only mod i have on my car so far is the ingalls torque damper... so i would appritate some input on how we will match up thank you...

I have raced a TC and there alrite but i know our cars willl take it but good luck

 

there i was, lined up next to the tc at the track right, light goes green he floors it, i wait a second, ease out of the clutch, squeeze the gas pedal, and then at 3000rpm something crazy happened...my 75 shot kicked in right...it was like he was parked...

You guys must have raced some crappy tC drivers. Both cars are just about the same. Same engine size, torque (SS 11 HP advantage), 5-speed. The SS weighs a little over 150 lbs. more. This is a driver's race all the way. For us SS/SC drivers on the other hand....

 

Check your specs. TC is far heavier and SLOWER.

 

the tc runs the same as a 2.2 the tcs run 15.7-15.9 stock for 5 speeds
the 2.4 will pull on the tc

 

i raced a modded one about 5 times and it was not even close, not even close to being close

I've also raced multiple tC's and never lost .. i am modded however.. but i would have confidence in my SS to smoke a tC even unmodded. Also gotta have teh drivin skillz :P

 

when i was at the track last summer, i recall seeing a tC run 16.1-16.3 on 3 runs.

Let me know how it goes cause I used to have a 05 scion tc never had a chance to race it only had if for 3 months then I totalled it. so i dont know how it will do. BUT I have an SS/SC now so I would love to run a tC and smoke the hell out of it. I am stock and I would run a modded tC.

 

You'll be more than fine. I raced my friends tC with my 2.2 (auto) and pulled on him.

 

make sure it isn't the trd supercharged tc...if it is he should take you cause those run close to flat 15's. If it isn't the trd one it's really a drivers race leaning more towards you.
