2.2l ECM flashed with 2.4l factory settings

Hi guys, pretty sure the ECM is fried for my '08 LE5. Ordered a ECM from eBay and the seller isnt sure if it is for a 2.2l or a 2.4l. Contacted ZZP about it and they don't feel like its a good idea to risk it (I can agree). But funds are tight, and ordered this computer without making absolutely sure it was for a 2.4l

What are your guy's thoughts? Yay or nay??

the ecu you have is an E37 model. In my experience, you can use one from any model vehicle, just have it reflashed for your VIN and theft deterrent.

So they can do all that through HP Tuners then right? Why would they say it's not worth the risk?? I'm just curious, because if what you're saying is true then I'll just send them this ECM in hopes all works out...

They are just covering their asses. Some ECUs have the same part number with different internals so if you back flash them, theyre bricked. Im running an 08 le5 file on some 09 buick v6 computer and it works fine. Only thing is it will cost you $200 with hptuners, probably cheaper at the dealer assuming it takes an hour or less.
