aight all u guys need to calm down. those numbers are actually verry good. he's on a mustang dyno, and for you 2.2 who think you'll put down those numbers w/ an intake and exhaust are tripping. and are thinking like a ricer that an intake is 15hp and exhaust is 20whp. so u guys owe this man an appology, cuz for producing almost 160whp on a mustang dyno is verry good thats close to 195-200hp at the flywheel. so those are verry good numbers. so he's gained around 25hp which is excellent. for a basic tune. there is more potential. and look at his hp and tq curve it is verry nice and flat. this guy has a nice car here w/ a verry strong engine. keep up the good work man. and dont be discouraged by these others.. also dont need to lash out back, shows immaturity. be professional.

GTP this still has the bump for engagment (stock) if you look at the HP curve you can see it, we are able to tune that out if you look at the after HP curve

GTPprix, ok yeah I do see it around 4k. I am just used to the VTEC bumps and VVL bumps of about 15-20 whp which makes it look so much different. Also different dyno graphs than yours, but I do see it now. Funny when tuning the bump out of VTEC the owners would think the car was slower because they didn't fell the surge. Trying to explain horsepower "under" the curve to someone who wants to feel the surge proved tricky. Dyno graphs helped. Thanks.

No one is "tripping" but you. 2.2 dyno with intake, header, and exahust...off the street...no special tuning.....on a mustang dyno... https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/sho...&searchid=1537 ...........and actually that's 191.8 at the flywheel.

No thats not a stock SS, the base run was done with injen CAI and axle back exhaust, the 159whp number was after the tune.

You have it backwards, Torque is pressure applied. IE: Lbs/ Square inch and horsepower is a manmade number created from that. Torque is everything in a 1/4 mile race. It is what gets you moving. Thats why hondas have to launch at 5500-6000 to go anywhere off the line cause that is whne they start producing torque.

That dyno chart is from a Solstice with a CAI, cat-back, and their ECU tune.

Use putfile.com you upload the file to thier site then link it here. They are very easy to use, all of our Sol-Forum members use it.

It kills me when threads like this are DYING for a response but it never seems to happen. If you're out there, just give us an update!
Apparently you haven't read any Solstice dyno graphs then have you? It's a RWD car and it sees a near 24% drivetrain loss. Also some of the Cobalt 2.4L VVT members who have gotten dyno's are showing 145HP after CAI+cat-back which is about exactly what a Solstice shows with a CAI+cat-back but the Solstice has a higher initial HP value. Cobalts are showing on average a 20% drivetrain loss for the 2.4L VVT ECOTEC LE5.

Some forced induction engines even when on the same transmission don't show the same drivetrain loss values. Miata vs the Mazdaspeed Miata is a good example. The 1.8L NA Miata shows about a 25% drivetrain loss compared to the 1.8L Turbocharged which shows only a 17% drivetrain loss on the exact same hardware.

well let's look back on what you said. You said you got the car dynoed with all of your mods and you couldn't beleive the numbers you got! well getting numbers implies that they came from the dyno. It is far more likely that you will dyno whp than taking the engine out and dynoing chp. You are the idiot, you dont say you have dynoed 210hp when you ACTUALLY dynoed what was it 168?
