2.4 head build

So here is my plan, any thoughts or possible problems you can think of let me know. i just got another head with 17k on it. I'm sending those cams in as cores and have the 2.4 cams ordered. Also i'm going to pick up springs and retainers. Not sure about valves anyone have thought on if i should upgrade or not. In the next couple weeks i should have the head to a machinist to clean it up and tear the old stuff off. Another ?? is p&p, i've herd i should and then i shouldn't. I'm planning to stay NA so do i really want it ported out more or can they do just a polish? Not sure whats the best for me. The only other ? i have is what head gasket fits our cars, same as 2.0 or 2.2 ?? And i know if you want to run NA higher compression is better anyone know of a thinner head gasket to up the compression, i know hahn makes one that will lower compression for F/I.

So by spring my plan is to have it built, get pnp 60's, wideband so i can tune, header and dp.

Anything i'm missing??
Thanks for input

60s n/a? overkill. get ss/sc injectors if you really go nuts. otherwise stock will be fine.

you think, i read that stock injectors are ok with full bolt ons but with any other work you would need to go larger, and i just figured pnp 60's would be easier to tune with because with s/c's you need a tune for i'm pretty sure, as with the 60's one less thing you need to worry about tuning around.

If you don't have boost I'd say just get stock SS/SC injectors. Screw the 60's. Your injector IDC might be to low with them anyways.

port match and make sure the intake side isn't totally smooth for atomization and a better boom.. i'd go with the stock ss/sc injectors at the very most 42 lb injectors the impedence will be way to low with 60s

what cams are you getting

yeah, i thought float was because the spring couldn't keep up, thats y i'm upgrading the springs. I wasn't gonna go to much higher but a limit of like 7500 isn't impossible correct me if i'm wrong. I'm new to this thats y i made this forum to help me out in deciding what i want to do.

I remember hearing something about Neutral balance shafts after a certain RPM. I'm not sure if we already have them and they need to be upgraded for a higher rev limit, or if they need to be added for the higher revs to make sure something doesn't explode. If these are a must, can someone please explain the concept? I was curious as well.

You need to remove them if you plan to go past a certain RPM. I want to say that number was around 7500-8000.

No one has had a bad experience except the one guy who tried to install them himself. Everyone else loves them. Where's the issue?

This is the only thing i can chime in on. You have to use the 2.4 head gasket. The 2.0 and 2.2 both have smallers bores than the 2.4.

no cams are anything to hoot about...lol. Area47 made more power on stock cams with adjustable gears than he did with any of the cams he bought.
