Ok sorry, I don't know a lo. let me try and explain. First, its manual not auto. If I put it in first and hold teh clutch n rev it, it goes to red line n tells me to shift...it doesn't stop me. Unles its a lil past redline where I was too scared to go?

red line on our cars is 6800 so it is actually a little past the first red line which is at 6500

so the actual red line is the point where it becomes solid red

on another note, try not to rev that high anyway, its not the greatest for your car

yeah it cuts at 6800 and our rev limiter isn't good sounding

The only times I hit fuel cutoff it was so long before it let the engine rev again that I had shifted already, never heard that "zwe...zwe...zwe..." sound

uh no, it's in gears, that's when you need it

I mean it's plain stupid to rev the **** out of it in neutral or with the clutch in..

it's there for when you're too slow to shift and/or forget to do so!

it should only come on in gear, if you revved in neutral its not going to come on.

however it comes on at about 6500ish

ProjektCobalt your car is an 07 right? I have run in to this issue before, there is an 06 2.4 by me and hiw shift light works and can adjust it just like Beck. But mine has never lit up not even once and I have alterd the light in my tune and it still does not work. I think it was disabled in the 07's. :dunno:

Ya and the dealer would void your warranty on your car if they scan your computer and find over revs logged into the system... so if you race your **** and you have a warranty problem discounect your battery to erase the info logged into your system before you take into the dealer....
