Exclamation 2.4L Tranny HELP!!!

i have an 06' 2.4l auto. In 2008 it started acting weird, shifting hard, kicking and the car would tug. I got it serviced and it went away.... ITS BACK! And I hate it. If anyone has the slightest idea what it is or what I could do to better this issue, please help.

I had got the 30,000 mile service, it included the throttle body cleaning... Honestly, I don't remember what it consisted, the price was $520. Could it be the transmission fluid?

how many miles you got on it now. in my opinion you should get a tranny service or if money is an issue get a tranny flush at the very least (tranny flush is just chaning the fluid, tranny service is dropping the tranny pan, replacing filter and then flushing the system)

50k now. yes, money is an issue. i have money saved up for a service, i should have enough for a tranny service. thank you. How often should a transmission be serviced?

At 50k I started to notice that my trans wouldn't ease into each gear and it felt sticky. So, I had it flushed and it solved that issue

Also, when it does that is Traction Control off when in Drive? Just a random question because I'm having an issue with that. Slamming into the next gear and Traction Control mysteriously turns off. I fix the issue with a hard restart

I had an issue where the (T/C) light would stay on after launching hard or even losing traction on a rain puddle causing the tranny to shift hard. The dealership did some soft of recalibration to the computer ( I don't know if it was the ECU or the TCU). Now when I peel out in water or launch hard I get a "LOW TRACTION" (reducing power to gain traction) message on the DIC. Although it did take about 2 months of driving to fix itself even after the calibration.

can't remember the exact mileage. but judging from your mods i'm gonna assume that you like to "drive" your car and would recommend the intervals to be a little sooner. i know on mine (i got 2.4L manual) that i do mine about every 30,000km's. for you i would recommend a flush about the same amount (so roughly once a year). i do mine at these intervals simply because i race in the summer and the winters can get pretty rough up here.

Yes, I would be trying to speed up to freeways speed and the light comes on. Did they charge for the recalibration?

Haha! I love my balt. I love driving everywhere in it. I will take your recommendation seriously. I will do that as soon as I can. Now with the rain here in California, its guaranteed it will turn back on.

couldn't hurt. i know the auto's take alot more then mine. mine only takes 2 litres which from the dealer is about $50 for the 2 litres of the synthetic tranny fluid. good thing i still got my hook ups lol.

It was covered under warranty, I had around 15K when I started noticing the glitch. I was told it runs around $50. The only problem I had taking it to the dealership was recreating the problem. They need to see that it's not working b4 they can fix anything. The only way to recreate a low traction event is to of course... burn out in the parking lot.

For some odd reason I want to say you should have the auto tranny fluid done every 50,000 miles or maybe it was 30,000.

updating the tcm with a new calibration for shift points and all the other little stuff that allows the tranny to operate correctly

Thanks for the insight guys. After reading everything here I realized my issue is due to hard launches or driving like a mad man. It's interesting that overwhelming traction control would cause the computer to flip a **** and slam each gear.

i got the tranny flushed.. it disappeared for a bit and now that its warming up its coming back. the check engine light came back on and it claims a problem with a camshaft and one about an exhaust censor...

dealer is charging me 379 to plug something into my camshaft that possibly could get rid of the problem if not they have to install an actuator(or something like that)

help me out with this guys, please i dont know what to do

hmm well if you could get the exact codes for the new cel's that would be a great help as they will tell us which direction to send ya. and for $400 there better be a gaurantee that it will fix it, none of this we hope it will fix it bullshit.

Yeah the computer just isn't sure how to handle your driving.
