2.5 exhaust opinions

I'm looking for an affordable 2.5" exhaust for my 2.4L. I currently have stock piping and an obx muffler.
I'm looking to get the 2.5" downpipe from zzp but i figured while im under there might as well get a full 2.5" catback to seal the deal.
What are your suggestions? I'll be doing this in my garage with a floor jack one weekend lol.
If i need bolts etc, I have my ninja 250r.

Any help is appreciated!

^Garbage. Heard mixed reviews about mandrel exhausts not fitting, plus you don't wanna go with aluminized steel, you want stainless. Best bang for your buck is probably ZZP's catback.

yah Aluminized can be tough, esp in colder climates that use salt in the winter. if i could afford a new cat back i would put my money with ZZP. there 3 chamber is supposed to sound really nice, and not too loud

obviously it will not last as long as stainless steel, however the op said he wanted something affordable. if money is no issue corsa or magnaflow would be good choices. i heard the zzp on youtube its ok kinda of loud though.

That link posted has no resonator. It will probably drone on the highway. Like enough to make you jump out of the car.

Can't be as loud as my magnaflow. It was ok before I got my header and downpipe and then it got kinda loud. Then once I went supercharged, it got crazy loud and raspy.

i hear ya man my tsudo exhaust got extremely loud after i installed my header and downpipe. i went back to stock exhaust for a bit and then just put a dynomax muffler on there and i'm happy with the sound now.

^^

Yup!

Header and/or downpipe, keep the stock catback and your muffler. It will sound nice otherwise it will get annoying with a catback. When I had a header/dp and catback it was loud and droned. With header/dp and stock catback with magnaflow muffler it sounded great.

I've been considering the catback systems because I heard the stock piping over the axel restricts a lot. And im looking to get the catted zzp 2.5" downpipe anyways.
Btw how hard is it to get the downpipe off? How many bolts is the flanges off the cat?

Magnaflow! We stock them, and ship many out each week. Nice stainless too, great price on our site.

It's a bitch. There's three bolts that will be rusted to hell and feel like they've welded themselves in there. You will need some kind of penetrating lubricant like pb blaster and maybe a torch to heat up the bolts to break them loose.

Yeah i've gotta pick up some more pb blaster. When I took my rear springs off they were rusted and broke so im a little scared of the exhaust haha.

How do you guys think that the zzp long tube headers with a high flow cat hooked up to the GMPP cat back exhaust would sound? I am trying to get a deep tone with no rasp

the 2.2L ones work on a 2.4 right? I'm not looking to spend a lot of $$ on a catback.

Not spending $900 on exhaust for a cobalt. If anything I'll just stick with my stock catback, I already have the muffler on anyways.
I just figured having the 2.5" piping would make flow better.
But not worth $900

The section over the rear axel is restrictive. I just never understood the reason to do it cheap and not do it right. I've had my system going on for 4 years now. No rust. No problems. It doesn't have to be Ark. But at least go with a t304 stainless steel.

I just could never justify spending that much on exhaust. I've seen some out there such as the zzp one but im not sure if i wanna even spend 400.
