B&M Shift Plus PROBLEMS!

Well I got the B&M shift plus and installed it in about 15 minutes and went for a test drive. Stage 1 was WOW! I couldn't believe how fast it shifted, so I stopped and switched to stage 2 and nailed it. BAM the 1, 2 shift hits so hard the traction control comes on! Thats not cool! Has anyone else had this problem and if so is there any way around it? True I can put it in low and that shuts the traction control off and then MAN does it chirp the tires! But I'd like to leave it in the "I" setting and just play around without needing to shift. Any ideas guys?

Otherwise this is an awesome little mod for the automatic cars.

Well at least this time it shifts AT ALL! Seriously its not bad its just it bangs so hard it spins the tires and throws the traction control on. And thats with brand new 245's!

He's not running the stock wheels. Though, 245 is wiiide for a lil 'balt. My 19x8 Axis Mods are only using a 225 tire.

The only way I've come up with to stop the traction issue is to pull the parking brake up 1 notch to turn the traction control off. But then you have that annoying chime all of the time. Thank God for loud music!

Let me try to understand your problem---wait...whats the problem?

So your tires spin from the 1-2 shift---it says low traction, right? Thats not a problem at all.

you probably did it worng. i soldered mine on so its a perfect connection and it doesn't break or damage the wire if you want to take it off. i have the 2.2 and my stage II yank me into 2nd. lol. chirping auto ftw !!!!

The problem is that when the traction control kicks in it cuts the engine power for about 2 seconds and the car bogs down.

I've never had this problem... I don't drive on stage 2 quite often tho... i prefer stage 1. then when its time to play i hit stage 2. i gotta have some luxury in my econo box... its already rattles like a snake plus im in a lot of stop and go and the 5mph hard shift into 2nd is not a pleasant one...lol

Do not ever us the wire quick connects, I am an amusement ride maintenance worker and I have see it cut straight through the wires before, and if this would happen to you when your driving down the road with no tools, uh-oh. I used some quick male/female (pink) disconnects. So if I ever want to take it off just unhook it, and of course I heat shrunk it to seal it but that's very easy to remove.

And if anyone has faith in the quick connects, believe me, a company called "Chance Ride Manufacturing" uses them on the lights all the time and they end up breaking the wire within a year and some places is very hard to replace...

I have had mine installed for quite some time now and I have never had t/c problems in stage 2. The tires do tend to slip a little when it shifts but it never turned the t/c on. What tires are you running? The stock tires will slip more than say if you got some softer aftermarket tires?

I still have the Pirelli's until they wear out, but my mod list is:
AEM cai
2.4 intake mani
SS/SC exhaust mani and downpipe
Pacesetter catback
lightweight pulley
POLY MOUNTS
B&M shiftplus

I would have to say it is the stiffer mounts that are doing it.

Every once and awhile my T/C light will come on...But it was doing that before I had the shiftplus. It actually has a section in the manual for it. Your computer reads a bad code, and you need to do a restart. So I dunno....
But the shiftplus does rock *****. Level 2 scares me...I don't use it.

HP Tuners resulted in my car being TOWED back to the dealer on 3 occations! No remote start, No alarm, and no gears past 1st on a few times. I tried the HP way for MONTHS! But I don't have time to play with the car like that, I NEED it to be reliable and dependable without the problems I had with HPT.

That said however my friend down here wants to try it again, siad he'd spend all weeend tuning my car if need be so if you have a file you'd care to shair by all means let me know!
