B&m Shift plus questions

I have a 2.4 Auto.

I want to get this. I DID find and read the thread about it but I had a couple questions that weren't answered.

I noticed that someone said they put there car in L...is that correct? Why?

Can the levels be switched while driving/car is on? or do you have to set it your prefered setting before you turn the car on?

But is it required to have the car in L while the shift kit is enabled?

No it is not reqired to have the tranny in low. However, it just makes sense to have it in "L" to turn off traction control so the ECM won't cut power if/when you get wheel spin. The tranny will upshift into 2nd on its' own at ~6500 RPM then shift into "I".

L = No traction control, holds rpm regardless. Will upshift from 1-2. Wont upshift from 2-3.
I = Intense = Traction Control On, will only upshift if rpms are above 4k, but wont downshift unless rpms are below 2k. Will upshift 1-2, 2-3, 3-4.
D = Normal drive.

When racing, start in L. Towards top of 2nd gear, shift to I...stay in place for remainder.

I normally drive in I, as if I drive in D, it adds load onto the motor, which makes the turbo want to spool up by barely touching the gas, which in turn bogs the car down when the car is shitting 80psi of fuel, at 10% throttle going 30mph.

in I, its less load being a lower gear.

If I were you, do what I wish I would of done.

Build your own, as essentially my kit is almost a custom setup.

However, buy the Garrett Kit, then get custom tuning.

Or if you want a complete turn key solution but still not break the bank, go with zzp.
