break in period

what was the break in period for most of you 4dr ss 2.4l owners? ij ust got mine today and it has 52 miles on it now, i picked it up with 25.

i want to give it to about 1000 miles before i start to romp on it and maybe race, i was eyed up by quite a few ricers today, acuras, hondas, some neons lol..and i wan to blow them away, but i dont want to blow up my motor

Well a friend of mine just rebuilt his Saab 9-3 motor, hes pushing around 350-370 hp with the turbo and hes waiting until 500 miles, also another friend of mine has a brand new Wrx Impreza turbo and he also waited until 500 miles to break it in, he also never went above 4k while shifting, but Suburu does break in the turbo before-hand. So im pretty sure you wouldn't have to wait until 1000 miles to start smoking ricers

Yep. 500 miles is the magic number for all our Ecotecs.
