Is This BS?

I know it says it fit's 2.2L only, but I know we're all in agreement 2.2's fit 2.4's as well for intakes. SO, is this link total B.S. because 65.00 for an intake is, oh about 140.00 less than others. Is JDM decent, good, or just plain crap? I'm asking because I am not familiar with them so please dont bash.

i would never get that... yes it's true that most 2.2 and 2.4 parts are interchangeable, and the intake is one of them... for 65 it's probably a generic peice of crap that won't fit right, and will most likely be more problems than it's worth.. if you don't want to spend 230 dollars on an intake, i would try the airbox mod...

okay thank you, i figured and i wanted to just get any other opinion on this. my intention is to get an intake and price i dont care about, this just seemed too cheap...and that's probably what it is, a cheap peace of crap.

From the link:

"Airflow Intake kits allow you to use a filter, maximizing the air input your factory air box can't compare to"

Wow, this thing uses an air filter....that's amazing!

I would stay away from that one.

yea... it's funny how things work... if you don't know anything about cars, you may read that and be like "Wow, it uses a filter to maximize air flow... that sounds good!"

but then you learn about cars and realize that's like saying "And this car comes with an engine which makes your car go."

I spotted that intake too. Generally if you just read around the page a little you can tell what's up. Usually it's all just bogus. However, my friend bought an eGay intake for his CRX and it's terrific. It fit perfectly, actually looks pretty nice, and makes all the normal CAI sounds under throttle and such. It cost him like 20 bucks. That was my only idea... I just absolutely HATE that big goofy ass black plastic thing that covers up your engine from the intake. I removed the actual plasic engine cover thing, but that's still there. It's so terrible.

BTW: What's the "air-box mod"? The resonator removal?

This thing can't be too generic since it does have the MAF port (very specific to the Ecotec) and the PCV port, and they appear to be in the right place based on my GMPP intake. I'd be curious to know where the filter ends up.

For this price, if you replaced that weird filter with a K&N and just used the tubing/clamps, it'd still be a good deal. If I didn't already have the GMPP I'd buy one just to try it for the board.

if its all you can afford, save up...its seriously not worth it, it isn't going to work well and its gonna be a total waste of 65 bucks. You'd probably see better gains from a K&N filter.

That K&N PCV breather filter probably cost more than the rest of the mod put together!

NEED TO KNOW-

just a warning, if you plan on making your own intake like the guy with the ugly **** under the hood did, make sure any shards of plastic or any pieces from cutting ar OUT OF THE PIPING before you install it into the car. If a piece of plastic is sucked thru ur tb into your motor....say bye bye to your motor.
