Catless DP question.

Before you flame, I didnt search beforehand. So..dont tell me too.

Question,

The 2.4's (other models might be different) have 2 o2 sensors.

1 pre cat, 1 pro cat.

I know the pre cat is the one that adjusts the computer to do..what it needs to do.

The 1 pro cat, from what i've read basically tells you if your cat is fubar'd.

With that said.

Could you get a pipe welded in its place (of the cat) without it throwin codes? If so, what does it throw?

a CEL/TC light? a hidden obd2 code(that doesnt trigger any lights on the dash)

Thanks in advance

No, it will throw an insufficiency cat code, CEL on your dash.
If you get an aftermarket tune, it can be tuned for not having the cat, and will not leave you with a CEL

No, you cannot get rid of the cat without getting emission codes. The cat changes the carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and reduces nitrides of oxygen (like i know - I'm regurgitating what is written). You will get a CEL that your cat is insufficiant (don't have the codes handy). Some are having success getting rid of the cat and installing an elbow that moves tha HO2S2 sensor out of the flow to keep from getting CELs/SESs/MILs.
Pre cat = HO2S1
pro cat = HO2S2
