Cel With Gm Intake Today!!

Hey guys guess what my CEL light just came on today just tonight and isnt going off yet. i just put my gm intake on tuesday and it took that long for it to throw that light. does anyone have any idea what i can do. i dont want to pay money to have the dealer reflash it. or is it ok to drive that way for a week. it says in the manual its not good. im getting exhaust and header this week they should be here. and if i have the money by the end of this week i may get it tuned with hptuners would that eliminate the CEL and all other codes because its getting tuned? the computer would be tuned with the new parts and wouldnt have a problem with them i mean. anywhos does anyone have some advice thanks.

ryan.

through a cell? stock SHOULDN'T throw a cell...even with an intake it SHOULD throw a code?

HUH???? that was the hardest two posts to read ever...lol

anyway, it won't void anything to my knowledge because of it being GMPP...but you're first person I've heard of getting a CEL with it...weird.

Are you sure the cel is from the intake? What is the code that you are getting? Make sure to check all your connections on it. My friend had his come loose and that is when he had the code come up. He now has GMPP Intake, GMPP Header and GMPP cat-back and is getting no codes.

I've had the GMPP intake on for 6 mos now -- no CELs. Make sure your connections are good. Dont tighten the clamps too tight either! Get the CEL read -- it might not have anything to do with the intake -- like a loose gas cap

well im stupid

well im stupid i forgot to put on these 2 little wires that i disconected when i was attemting to polish my valve cover today and forgot to put them back on they connect ontop of the valve cover. and i drove it that way for probly 20 miles man i hope theres nothing wrong with my car after that. no i drove the car for 5 days with not a problem. and stock never had a cel. and yes its a gmpp. gosh im stupid i just looked and thats what it was. thanks guys i knew it was something easy. but i started it up and it was still on. i think it would be best to maybe drive it a little bit maybe itl shut off so it could get used to those wires being conected again you think. cuz i dont think a gm intake should ever throw codes. well let me know.

Disconnect the battery cable for a few minutes and then start her back up. That should clear the code, and if not go get it checked out.

Make sure they are going to reflash it -- I have a feeling they are just going to clear/erase your OBDII.
