Cold air intakes!

What up everyone, I was in the market for a cold air intake system for my 2006 ss. I just wanted to know what would be best for an intake for horsepower gain. Im open to any suggesstions, I want to know the exact name of the intake and one that would fit my car model. Thanks.

I have the air box mod, works great!
There are also ebay intakes that copied the AEM design for about +/-$100

most of the leaks i've seen on intake is due to bad installs. i'm not saying that is always the case, but a 2 foot bit of pipe is either going to leak, or it isn't. couplers and filters and fittings can a lot easier.

Just dont do this......(This WILL leak!) LOL

....as long as the ebay intake is install properly, there should be no way of it leaking.... I will probally go this route unless I can find a brand name one for the right price. I think sometimes the ebay ones go for as low as $66 or something.

I also just notice this is in the 2.4 section, I dont think there is a ebay intake for the 2.4s, only brand name ones I think.....

There it is again! I WANT IT! I'll scrap my GMPP for this!

Anyway, if you're interested in the GMPP take a look at the two "how-to's" by clicking on the links in my signature. I like it best but there's strong support on the forum for Injen.

gmpp ftw! seriously though it sounds awesome. and if you ever have any trouble with the dealership they cant get you for it since its gm. unlike headers or something that they might not see right away, the intake is right up in your face. it might be a little pricey but in the long run i think its worth it, it sounds amazing and i can defininately tell a little more kick in the car

For all of you who are browsing this thread, I just got a Fujita CAI for my 2.4L G5 GT, however; I also have an Injen but I need to sell this one to make some cash and a buddy of mine wants to know if it can be modified - It uses the stock elbow with that GAY cover. Any of you think there would be a way to modify it to be a full replacement intake?

I mean the right way

Because most intakes are two pieces I figured it may be feasible.

Here is a picture example of what has to be done (Thanks to my buddy PursuitGT):

The blue area is the section that stays and the red is where the Fujita connects.

How much of a difference would it make if I left the GAY elbow on there? And would I be able to couple some piping together to install it?

I ask these questions for a buddy of mine who is thinking of buying this intake off of me.

I personally own the Fajita (Fujita) intake and i am not impressed with the asthetics of it. I personally wish i would have went with AEM or Injen. But i suppose they do the same thing in the end... I like shiny things.
