Cost Effective

I'm thinking about ordering this

http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=545&catid=155

AEM Cold Air Intake
Trifecta Tune

That's about the amount of money i have to put into this car. Obviosuly I'll be doing the tune last. That's about $750 and I could get to 210 HP (NOT TO THE WHEELS) does this seem the best route to go assuming self install for everything?

dang USMC is to quick, deleted his post. I love it when people call others out and just end up looking stupid.

to OP: Going with bolt ons and a tune, is a decent route for the 2.4L's

I didn't call him out. I simply told him to get OTTP Stg1 and save himself $300 while gaining a lot more HP.

So, now you look stupid for calling me out.

I don't know a lot about the Cobalt's can you get stage 1 on the 2.4L? I wanted to put an exhaust but, it just doesn't seem too cost effective. 10 HP and a cute sound for 800$ isn't worth it to me.

Meh, I didn't look at thread location. I've been awake for 24 hours.

He was in a thread talking to a few of us about how Cobalt SS's can't run 12's... naturally assumed that he was talking about the F/I model.

No. The Stg1 is for the Supercharged Model.

There are a lot of things that you can do to your car... almost none are gonna be cheap if you want real power.

You could probably round up all the parts needed to supercharge it for around $1000... possibly less if you look hard. I sold all my S/C parts for about that price. Just gotta know what to look for.

Uh, no.

$800 for exhaust is twice the going rate
And you won't gain 10hp either.
